Fashion's Role In Skateboarding
What do you know about the fashion connection of this sport and what is the scene here? Well, with the growing popularity of the sport, it was but natural that some type of clothing be assigned as standard apparel. The skateboard clothing is however one of the most versatile clothing ever. This is maybe because the sport is generally the heartthrob (both practice and watching) of teenagers. Hence, these bracket of people do not like to conform to any rules or regulations. The rebel in them is amply reflected in the trend of the skateboard clothing that is in fashion today - usually T-shirts with the favorite brand logo or graphic and jeans. There are many designers out there who have exploited this target group and launched some great lines of clothing - however as all designer labels, there too are expensive. What About Cheap Skateboard Clothing This is the choice of the normal kid on the block. These kids too, love designer labels and the hi-fi fashion of the skateboard world, but have no money to indulge into such appetite. Hence, they make do with whatever they get. You would get the best cheap skateboard clothing in flea markets, at sales and on the Internet. Most of the cheap skateboard clothing are replicas or duplicates of designer clothing - which in initial phases can be as good as the originals. Since most of the kids concentrate on getting a good skateboard in the first place - and that always costs a lot of money, the compromise is usually passed on to the skateboard clothing. Fortunately the cheap skateboard clothing does not normally look cheap. In fact if you use them with the right combination and attitude you could hardly say whether you are wearing the original or the replica. The general trend in skateboard clothing is loose clothing, most casual looking; this is why baggy jeans and T-shirts are preferred and worn when skateboarding. Besides looking cool, the loose clothing allows free movement of the body when practicing the amazing skateboarding feats kids usually do. Seeing them turn and twist in the air would make you realize how important it is to wear loose and free-flow clothing. Anything tight could have arrested the artistic flow of the stunts, besides endangering the performing person by interfering with the balance of the body. To summarize, there is a large following for the cheap skateboard clothing - and this is because these youngsters want to do things differently. Nothing wrong with that - besides, to be honest this comes as a relief after the cost of the skateboard. |
