Skate Shoe
The Skate Shoes are specifically intended and designed for use in skateboarding. The Skate Shoe has many origins and many different designers, but the basic definition is the same. The features the shoe has to offer skateboarders is, flat sole usually made of rubber which has triple stitching for strong durability. The Skate Shoe designs are integrated to do many things for the skateboarders. A couple of things they look for when choosing a design are shoes that prevent heal bruising, increase "board feel" which is noted by flexibility in the shoe. Most shoes are designed to help one grip the skateboard better.
Some of the features that can be found in most designs would be rubber soles, air pockets in the heel of the shoe. Some Skate Shoes come with shoelace protectors so they don't get tangled or worn. They also offer the unique lace loops that actually hide the shoe laces so they can't be seen or untied. There are a variety of Skate Shoes that are made with the System G2 Cushioning which provides the foot with a lot more cushion and comfort. This system allows for more absorption on impact.
The durability is the most important issue when choosing or designing the Skater Shoe.
The skateboarders are very harsh on their Skate Shoes and require a good product that will last. The skateboarders also use a grip tape that helps the grip action and this tends to be abrasive to the shoe. Usually the choice preferred are the Super Suede, Action Leather and the plastic toe caps, this helps increase robustness and longevity.
Etnies Lo-Cut 3s are light weight but has a lot of style. This design offers more elasticity and comes in many bright, bold colors. They are designed to offer more interface with the board and have a flatter thinner sole. They are also made very lightweight to offer more bounce action when needing to put space between you and your board. Some of the cons of this brand of Skate Shoe is that there is not an airbag in place for preventing injury. There are no kickflip panels in this shoe. The flat sole allows more impact on the board which will eventually cause injury to the feet. This lack of sole also allows for less shock resistance. The shoe is very well designed but does not offer some of the qualities that skateboarders are looking for. The fancy pull tabs and the puffy tongue is not a feature offered by this Skate Shoe. There are so many manufactures out there and so many designs to choose from, that it is imperative that research be done on the most desirable brands. The most important qualities to look for when deciding on a Skater Shoe would be action leather that provides strong and flexible performance. Lower cut Skater Shoes offer more freedom with skateboarding. Picking the shoe with the lightweight construction will give you more light foot action for doing tricks. Of course if your very competitive and insist on color coordinating all your gear, there are plenty of colors and designs to choose from.
